Our client is seeking a strategic leader who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the organization’s compensation, benefits, pension, and recognition programs. This role ensures total rewards strategies are aligned with business objectives, drive performance, and enable the organization to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
As a key member of the HR leadership team, the TR Leader partners closely with executive leadership to shape reward philosophies, support organizational transformation, and ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
Compensation
- Expected salary range is $170,000 – 190,000 annually, plus bonus (commensurate with experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with business goals and talent priorities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CHRO, and executive team on compensation and benefits strategy
- Lead the evolution of reward frameworks to support growth, M&A, and organizational transformation
- Oversee executive, broad-based, and sales compensation programs
- Design and manage short and long-term incentive plans (STIP/LTIP)
- Ensure competitive positioning through market benchmarking and pay equity analysis
- Lead Board and Compensation Committee materials and recommendations
- Design and manage health, wellness, retirement, and pension programs
- Ensure programs are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with employee needs
- Oversee vendor selection, negotiation, and governance
- Develop recognition programs that reinforce company values and performance culture
- Lead well-being strategies including mental, physical, and financial wellness initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulatory requirements
- Oversee pay transparency, ESG-related disclosures, and compensation governance practices
- Lead a high-performing total rewards team
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
- Leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making and measure program effectiveness
- Provide insights on workforce trends, compensation costs, and ROI of reward programs
Qualifications & Experience
- 12–15 years of progressive HR experience, with deep expertise in total rewards within the financial/insurance industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field
- CCP, CBP, CEBS, or similar designation preferred
- MBA or advanced degree is an asset
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role
- Strong background in executive compensation and Board-level interactions
- Experience in complex, multi-site or global organizations
- Demonstrated ability to lead transformation and scale programs
- Strategic and commercial mindset
- Executive presence and influencing skills
- Strong financial and analytical acumen
- High degree of integrity and sound judgment
