About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Design Draftsperson to join their Water Services team. In this role, you will work closely with engineering and CAD/BIM teams to support the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, and drainage systems.
This position is well-suited for an intermediate CAD professional who enjoys working across a variety of projects—from preliminary design through to as-built drawings—while also gaining exposure to fieldwork and multidisciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare preliminary and detailed engineering drawings for water, sewage, and drainage infrastructure
- Support the design and layout of pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and related systems
- Produce structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, along with material take-offs and calculations
- Interpret and reduce field survey data (topographic and hydrographic)
- Conduct site visits and inspections to support design and ensure compliance with standards
- Assist with cost estimates, scheduling, and technical documentation
- Maintain accurate project records, including as-built and as-constructed drawings
- Coordinate survey requirements and utility documentation
- Review and check work completed by junior drafting staff where required
About You
- Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline
- Several years of experience in civil drafting/design, ideally within municipal or infrastructure projects
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and other relevant design tools
- Strong understanding of civil utilities and/or linear infrastructure systems
- Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering standards
- Ability to perform accurate calculations and produce high-quality technical drawings
- Comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative team environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
