Paralegal – Unsecured Commercial Collections
Location: Downtown Edmonton
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (75-minute lunch)
Our client, a well-established downtown Edmonton law firm, is seeking an experienced Paralegal – Unsecured Commercial Collections to join their busy and high-performing team.

Position Overview
This role is ideal for a highly motivated paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing a diverse workload. You will provide key support to lawyers and clients while handling a portfolio of unsecured commercial collections files.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of unsecured commercial collections files
- Communicate professionally with clients and debtors
- Draft pleadings and legal correspondence
- Conduct various searches and due diligence
- Register encumbrances at Land Titles and PPR
- Negotiate and administer payment plans
- Calculate account balances and process payments
- Prepare and issue weekly billings
Requirements
- Legal Assistant certificate/diploma or equivalent experience
- Litigation or collections experience
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and records management abilities
- Client service–oriented mindset
- Experience with ProLaw and/or Techcom is an asset
